What to expect during treatment:

Dr David Jen shared his philosophy of treating patients holistically and assured me that UltraShape™ is ideal for problematic areas such as the flanks.

After marking my targeted areas, aesthetic nurses covered my tummy, revealing only the treatment area. The procedure started off with a pre-treatment of radio-frequency skin tightening. When this was completed, there was an application of cooling gel and thehandheld ultrasound transducer was switched on and positioned onto my treatment area to deliver controlled pulsed focused ultrasound at a precise depth within the fat layer. This advanced, computerised treatment technology is selective, meaning that only fat cells are broken down and surrounding important structures such as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissues remain intact. There was only a light tingling sensation or warmth in the treated area. Within a comfortable hour or so, the treatment was completed. The procedure ended with another round of post-treatment radio-frequency skin tightening. Overall, the treatment is comfortable, safe, and there is no downtime.

How long before results are seen:

After the UltraShape™ procedure, the broken-down fat cells are naturally cleared by the body over a two to four week period. Circumference and fat thickness reduction is usually seen in less than two weeks posttreatment. Patients are advised to maintain a healthy diet and routine exercise to maximise results.

Number of treatments required:

Dr David Jen recommends three to four sessions in order to achieve a reduction equivalent to one to two jean sizes. This will be most effective when complemented with a healthy and well-balanced diet and exercise programme.
