LASER GENESIS SKINTHERAPY TREATMENT
A non-ablative rejuvenation solution for restoring a natural glow to the skin and younger-looking complexion.

LASER GENESIS Skin Therapy applies laser technology to safely and effectively minimise scars and fade excessive redness of the skin through pulses of light. It is a comfortable, non-ablative treatment to improve skin texture, shrink large pores and diffuse fine wrinkles. The innovation stems from the Cutera System; as the laser hits the skin, it penetrates to the deeper dermis layer heating collagen directly. This causes collagen remodelling with changes in texture of the skin. At the same time, it also causes some heating and shrinkage of the small capillaries, thereby causing a decrease in redness of the skin.

What to expect during treatment:

After a skin analysis and cleansing, I was made to wear goggles to protect my eyes from accidental exposure to the laser. The laser hand piece waskept about an inch above my skin surface. As it was moved over small areas of my skin, it created a warm sensation which felt very relaxing and therapeutic. I could hear a fizzling sound, accompanied by a slight burning smell. This was caused by the burning of tiny facial hair and I thought that it was great that the laser doubled up as a hair removal treatment. Occasionally, Dr Ang would feel the temperature of my skin with the back of his fingers to check how much my skin was heating up and to ensure that it was receiving the “laser shots” well.

This treatment is expected to restore a healthy glow to my skin with the laser smoothening out uneven texture caused by the sun and acne scars. In addition, large pores will be reduced and minor imperfections will disappear. Dr Ang also added that while the skin’s collagen production will take some time to develop, a noticeable toning effect can already be seen. Some patients may experience slight flushing of the skin, but it usually dissipates in a few hours. Overall, the Laser Genesis Skin Therapy felt like a gentle, warm wave enveloping my face.

How long before results are seen:

lMy skin felt toned after the first treatment. Although the effect is subtle, with the recommended course of treatments, you will achieve a healthier and smoother complexion. It is important to note that results of such non-ablative laser rejuvenation will not be seen immediately, nor will they be as dramatic as deeper laser resurfacing procedures.

Number of treatments required:

To experience a more toned, youthful and even skin tone, Dr Ang recommends three to four Genesis Laser Skin Therapy treatments over a period of four months.

Suitable for:

The Genesis Laser Skin Therapy is suitable for patients with uneven skin texture or tone, enlarged pores, excessive redness, fine wrinkles and recent acne scars. While the laser treatment is generally applied to the face and neck, it can also be applied to other parts of the body.
