THE LPG method, also known as
endermologie, uses a special machine to perform
“cutaneous gymnastics” to increase lymphatic
circulation, promote elimination of metabolic
waste and tone up the body. Regular usage is
said to result in a slimmer, more contoured body
as well as smoother, firmer skin. While it can’t
replace a sensible diet and regular exercise, LPG is
effective for cellulite reduction, which exercising
cannot get rid of.
My therapist first measured my waist, hips and
thighs, and recorded my statistics down. She remarked that my problem areas are the sides of
my waist and hips. According to her, I am toned
but have a combination of muscle and “hard fats”.
In order to be slimmer, I need to “break down
these hard fats” to achieve a smaller waistline and
more contoured hips. LPG will also help target
the cellulite on my thighs. While I may not have
the “orange peel” appearance yet, over time, my
skin may lose its elasticity and that combined
with poorer circulation, may result in the dreaded
dimpling.
Before starting the treatment, I had to
change into a special LPG Bodywear, a stockinglike
bodysuit, which will protect my skin from
the machine. Using a handpiece with rollers, my
therapist began the massage on my upper arms,
back, hips and thighs, with special focus on my
waist, tummy and hips. Using a combination
of rolling and suction, LPG feels like a very
stimulating massage and was comfortable.
Different massage techniques were used for
cellulite, toning and lifting.
The treated areas, especially my tummy, felt warm and some patients may feel a little sore after the massage. For best results, daily sessions are recommended till results are seen, usually after five treatments.
Five to 10 sessions are recommended for optimum results.
